Castle Bromwich Infant School

SEND and Inclusion

Castle Bromwich Infants and Nursery is a larger-than-average, fully inclusive mainstream infant school that is committed to providing the best education possible to all of our pupils. We strive to ensure that all pupils achieve their potential: personally, socially, emotionally and academically, in all areas of the curriculum, regardless of their gender, ethnicity, social background, religion, sexual identity, physical ability or educational needs.

The school has gained the Dingley Kite mark for being an inclusive setting and the Prem Aware Award, recognising the effects of premature birth on children’s learning. We are also proud members of the Down Syndrome UK Primary Education Programme to ensure our pupils with Down Syndrome have access to the best teaching possible.

We support children with a wide range of additional needs including physical impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments, autism, diabetes, epilepsy, global delay, learning difficulties and speech and language difficulties. At Castle Bromwich Infants School, all pupils are fully included and take an active part in everyday activities.
